Wan Hai Lines Ltd., founded in 1965 and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, is a major global container shipping company recognized for its extensive intra-Asia and trans-Pacific services. Originally operating as a raw log carrier, Wan Hai transitioned into container shipping and has since grown to serve 33 countries, connecting key markets across Asia, the Middle East, India, the United States, and South America.
As of 2025, Wan Hai operates a modern fleet and is the world’s 11th-largest container line, employing over 4,300 staff worldwide. The company is actively expanding its fleet with 32 new vessels on order—12 of which are 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel or methanol-ready ultra-large containerships and 20 are 8,000 TEU vessels—bringing its orderbook capacity to 352,000 TEUs, with deliveries scheduled through 2028.
Wan Hai is also evaluating LNG dual-fuel options in response to future fuel supply concerns. The company is listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange and maintains a strong focus on sustainable operations, digitalization, and service reliability, ensuring it remains a trusted partner in global shipping and logistics.
