    About Jinjiang Shipping

Shanghai Jinjiang Shipping (commonly known as Jinjiang Shipping), founded in 1983 and headquartered in Shanghai, China, is a prominent regional container carrier specializing in intra-Asia trade. Controlled by Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), the company has established a strong presence across Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and emerging regional markets. As of 2025–2026, Jinjiang Shipping operates a fleet of approximately 51–52 vessels, including both owned and chartered ships, with a combined capacity of around 56,000–59,000 TEU. This positions the carrier among the top 35 container shipping lines globally and among the leading mainland Chinese operators.

In the first half of 2025, Jinjiang Shipping reported strong financial performance, generating revenue of about RMB 3.4 billion (approximately US$465 million), a 26% year-on-year increase, while net profit surged more than 150% to roughly RMB 794 million. The company has maintained a leading market share on the Shanghai–Japan trade lane while expanding its service network with new routes connecting China to Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, including the Ho Chi Minh Silk Road Express service.

Looking ahead, Jinjiang Shipping is actively investing in fleet modernization and regional network expansion. The company has ordered multiple eco-design feeder vessels, including 1,182 TEU containerships scheduled for delivery around 2027, and announced plans to invest up to RMB 1.94 billion (about US$270 million) in a new series of 1,800 TEU “Bangkokmax” vessels aimed at strengthening Southeast Asian routes. These investments reflect Jinjiang’s strategy to capitalize on the growing intra-Asia container market, optimize its capacity mix, and enhance service reliability across regional trade corridors. With continued focus on regional connectivity, fleet renewal, and premium service development, Jinjiang Shipping is positioning itself as a key carrier in Asia’s rapidly expanding intra-regional container trade, supporting supply chains linking Northeast Asia, ASEAN economies, and emerging markets across the broader Indo-Pacific region.
