About Emirates Shipping Line
Emirates Shipping Line (ESL), established in 2006 and headquartered in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone, is a prominent regional container carrier specializing in trade routes across Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, the Middle East, Red Sea, and Africa.
As of 2025, ESL operates with an annual capacity of approximately 700,000 TEUs, calling at 60 terminals weekly and maintaining a network of over 70 offices in 30 countries. The company employs around 600 staff and is led by CEO Yong-Ho Jun.
In April 2025, ESL joined the World Shipping Council, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and responsible shipping practices. Recent service expansions include the launch of the GRC service connecting Jeddah, Jebel Ali, Aqaba, and Sokhna, as well as new and revamped routes such as FHX, FNX, and SGI, enhancing connectivity between China, Southeast Asia, East Africa, and the Middle East.
ESL has also implemented a comprehensive fleet optimization program, achieving a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions across most of its vessels, underlining its focus on environmental sustainability.
With a flexible, customer-centric approach and a growing regional footprint, Emirates Shipping Line continues to strengthen its position as a key player in emerging markets logistics.
