About COSCO Shipping Lines
COSCO Shipping Lines, established in 2016 through the merger of COSCO Container Lines and China Shipping Container Lines, is the flagship container shipping division of China COSCO Shipping Corporation, one of the world’s largest and most influential maritime and logistics conglomerates. By mid-2025, COSCO Shipping Lines operates a modern fleet of 426 container vessels with a total carrying capacity of approximately 2.3 million TEUs, ranking it among the top four global liner operators.
The company oversees a global network serving all major east-west, north-south, and intra-regional trades, connecting 574 ports in more than 138 countries. In the first quarter of 2025, COSCO Shipping Lines reported group revenue of RMB 57.96 billion (about US$8.0 billion), a year-on-year increase of 20%, and net profit of RMB 13.23 billion (around US$1.83 billion), reflecting a strong rebound in profitability amid persistent market volatility and ongoing geopolitical challenges. COSCO’s terminal operations also saw robust growth, with COSCO Shipping Ports recording a total container throughput of 35.75 million TEUs in Q1—up 7.5% year-over-year—bolstered by strong results in both China and its expanding overseas portfolio.
